The Taurus PT709 Slim Inox is a single-stack 9mm striker-fired pistol finished with a stainless steel (Inox — Italian for stainless) slide over a black polymer frame, creating a distinctive two-tone appearance. The "Slim" designation is precisely accurate: the PT709's single-stack magazine produces a grip width that no double-stack pistol in this collection can match, making it one of the thinnest 9mm pistols available.

The 81mm barrel achieves a compact overall length, and the 7-round single-stack flush-fit magazine delivers the minimum bulk profile at the cost of lower capacity — the trade-off inherent to single-stack design. An optional 9-round extended magazine provides additional rounds at the expense of grip discretion. The striker-fired action features Taurus's restrike capability for a second pull on failed primers without slide manipulation. An adjustable rear sight allows basic point-of-impact tuning.

Discontinued by Taurus and superseded by the double-stack G2C and G3C lineup — which offer 12 rounds in a pistol only marginally wider — the PT709 Slim is available as new-old-stock.
