Taurus PT-809 C 9mm Compact Pistol

The Taurus PT-809 C is the compact variant of the PT-809 series — Taurus's acclaimed full-size polymer DA/SA pistol that earned a dedicated following for delivering SIG P228-class features at a fraction of the price. The "C" designation identifies the shortened compact configuration, reducing the barrel to 89mm and the grip height for improved concealability while retaining the full-size PT-809's most valued specifications.

Most notably, the PT-809 C retains the 800-series' signature Strike Two capability — an automatic second-strike mechanism that resets the striker for a follow-up attempt on a hard primer without manually cycling the slide. This passive safety net is found on no other pistol in this collection and represents a genuine operational advantage in high-stress defensive scenarios. The DA/SA trigger provides the traditional heavier first pull and lighter subsequent single-action shots.

Two magazines ship standard: a 13-round flush-fit magazine for compact carry configuration, and a 17-round extended magazine that brings the grip to full-size dimensions for range use and home defence — a practical dual-configuration system from a single pistol. Novak-style drift-adjustable front and rear sights are factory-fitted, and fully ambidextrous controls accommodate both-handed operators. Discontinued and replaced by the TH9c approximately 2017, the PT-809 C is available as new-old-stock. It represents the final generation of Taurus's DA/SA compact development before the transition to the current TH series.
