Norinco / Highlink 7.62×25mm Tokarev FMJ is the standard ammunition for the Type 54, TT-33, and all other Tokarev-pattern pistols chambered in the distinctive bottlenecked 7.62×25mm cartridge — known locally in Pakistan as "30 bore." The high-velocity bottlenecked case delivers substantially more muzzle velocity than 9mm or .45 ACP, a characteristic that earned the Tokarev round its reputation for penetration.
