Description

The Vortex Crossfire® II 3–12x56 AO Hog Hunter is a purpose-built variable-power riflescope designed for big game and hog hunting, especially under low-light conditions such as dawn, dusk, or heavy cover. It combines a bright 56 mm objective lens, adjustable objective (AO) parallax correction, and an illuminated V-Brite reticle for enhanced sighting performance, all housed in a rugged, weather-sealed build and backed by Vortex’s VIP Unconditional Lifetime Warranty.

Key Features

Magnification & Optics:
Variable magnification (3×–12×) provides flexibility for close to mid-range engagements.
56 mm objective lens increases light gathering for brighter images in low-light hunting scenarios.
• Fully anti-reflective, fully multicoated lenses enhance contrast and clarity for crisp visual performance.

Illuminated Reticle:
V-Brite reticle (MOA) features an illuminated center that can be adjusted across multiple brightness levels for improved visibility in dim conditions. The reticle is etched on the second focal plane (SFP), maintaining consistent appearance across magnification.

Adjustable Objective (AO):
• AO parallax adjustment allows precise image focus and removal of parallax error from 10 yds to infinity, useful for fine-tuning shots at varied distances.

Durable Construction:
Aircraft-grade aluminum – single-piece 30 mm main tube ensures strength and rigidity.
Nitrogen purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance in all weather and field conditions.
Hard anodized matte finish resists corrosion and minimizes glare.

Turrets & Adjustments:
Capped, resettable turrets make zeroing simple and guard against accidental shifts.
¼ MOA click adjustments with 15 MOA per revolution and up to 60 MOA of windage/elevation travel provide ample correction range for various conditions.

Ergonomics & Accessories:
Fast-focus eyepiece lets shooters quickly achieve a sharp reticle focus.
Generous eye relief (~3.5″) offers comfort and safety during recoil.
• Includes removable lens covers, a lens cloth, a 4″ sunshade, and CR2032 battery for reticle illumination out of the box.

Performance & Practical Use

The Crossfire II 3–12x56 AO Hog Hunter is optimized for hunters who need reliable performance in low-light or rugged field environments. The large 56 mm objective combined with fully multicoated optics enhances brightness and contrast in shaded timber or early/late day light, while the illuminated V-Brite reticle gives a clear aiming reference under marginal lighting conditions.

Adjustable Objective enables parallax correction for precise focus and reduced aiming error at varied ranges, and the robust construction (fogproof, waterproof, shockproof) ensures dependability season after season. This makes it a solid choice for hunting big game such as hogs, deer, and other species where quick target acquisition and clear imaging are advantageous.

Best Suited For:

✔ Hog hunting and big-game pursuits
✔ Low-light or dusk/dawn shooting conditions
✔ Mid-range hunting and field engagements
✔ Shooters who want illuminated reticle guidance
✔ Outdoor use in challenging weather and terrain

User Tips

Zero & Reticle Use:
Set a baseline zero at a known distance (e.g., 100 yds), then practice using the V-Brite reticle’s illuminated center to judge bullet placement in varying light — this helps build confidence in dawn/dusk scenarios.

Parallax Fine-Tuning:
Use the adjustable objective to eliminate parallax at specific ranges before critical shots, especially at mid-to-long distances, for better focus and reduced reticle wiggle.

Lens Maintenance:
Keep lenses clean and protected with the included covers. Regular cleaning with the provided cloth will help sustain maximum light transmission and image clarity in the field.
