The Walther SSP (Sport Semi-automatic Pistol) is a purpose-built ISSF Standard Pistol designed for the 25-metre Precision Pistol discipline at Olympic and international competition level. Manufactured by Carl Walther GmbH in Ulm, Germany, the SSP is built to one specification only: winning. It is not a defensive pistol, not a range hobby pistol, and not a collector's piece — it is a precision instrument for competitive shooters competing at the national or international level.

The SSP's defining technical feature is the LINEAR System — a hammerless striker mechanism engineered for a completely vibration-free trigger release. Unlike conventional striker mechanisms that require the striker to rotate or cam during the trigger pull, the LINEAR System drives the striker in a perfectly straight line, eliminating any lateral movement that could disturb the sight picture during the critical moment of release. This engineering refinement provides a measurably more consistent trigger break than conventional designs.

This listing is the Right-Hand Large (L) Grip configuration — fitted with Walther's PROTOUCH laminated wood grip with full 3D adjustment capability for precise hand fit to the individual shooter's anatomy. The 153mm cold-hammer-forged barrel achieves maximum sight radius within ISSF rules, and the aluminium alloy frame maintains the competition weight envelope. A 5-round single-stack magazine is standard for Standard Pistol discipline. The Walther SSP is the second most expensive pistol in this collection (after the CZ 75 TS Czechmate and is appropriate exclusively for competitive target shooters with active competition schedules at the national or international level.
