The Taurus Model 66 Combat is a modern defensive revolver built on the established Model 66 medium-frame platform — but configured specifically for combat and carry use rather than general sport shooting. The most significant departure from the standard 66 is the double-action-only (DAO) trigger with a spurless, bobbed hammer: without the traditional hammer spur, the revolver cannot be manually cocked for single-action fire, and the smooth hammer profile eliminates any risk of snagging during a draw from a holster or pocket. Every shot is fired with the same consistent double-action pull.

The combat-tuned DAO trigger is smoothed and lightened compared to a standard double-action pull, making the consistent DA pull more manageable for rapid defensive fire. A high-visibility fibre-optic front sight aids fast target acquisition in all lighting conditions, paired with a fixed rear channel for a clean, uncluttered sight picture — the correct specification for a defensive revolver where speed matters more than fine adjustment.

Uniquely in this collection, the Model 66 Combat features a T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optic Ready Option) drilled and tapped topstrap for direct optics mounting — making it the only optics-ready revolver in this collection.
