Taurus PT-915 9mm Pistol

The Taurus PT-915 is a historically significant transitional pistol in Taurus's lineage — a compact DA/SA design that bridges the full-size PT92 series and the modern compact pistols that followed. Produced during the late 1990s and early 2000s, the PT-915 evolved from the compact PT92C by adopting a shorter 102mm barrel and a redesigned slide with SIG P228-inspired aesthetics, creating a distinctly different visual profile from the open-top PT92 family while retaining the Beretta 92-lineage lockwork and aluminium alloy frame.

The forged aluminium alloy frame — shared with the PT92 series — provides the quality of feel and durability that distinguishes metal-framed pistols from polymer alternatives. At a compact 102mm barrel length, the PT-915 achieves dimensions between the full-size PT92 (127mm) and the compact PT-809 series (89–102mm), occupying a design space that was transitional in the evolution from traditional metal-framed service pistols toward the polymer DA/SA designs that ultimately replaced it.

With a 15-round double-stack magazine, the PT-915 delivers competitive capacity for a compact aluminium-framed DA/SA pistol of its era. The frame-mounted ambidextrous safety/decocker is inherited from the PT92 series — the Taurus improvement over the Beretta's slide-mounted version.
